I would love to share something very important with you — at least for me. I launched a podcast!
You might say, “Well, that’s not such a big deal, lots of people have a podcast today.” But for me, it’s much more than that.
I’ve been dreaming about this for over three years. I imagined it, talked about it, even bought the mics back then — while traveling in Australia. I had so many excuses and counterproductive thoughts swirling in my head about why it wouldn’t work, that I decided to push myself into a corner: If I spend all this money on the mics, I’ll HAVE to do it!
I still remember standing in that shop in Melbourne with my friend. We spent almost two hours there because I couldn’t decide whether to buy them or not — even though we had driven across the whole city to get to this specialized music store that had the exact mics I wanted. That’s me for you – I can travel the world with a 10k backpack, roll over Europe in a van, judge agility competitions in different nations, hitchhike in Finland! (even though it was said that it is impossible :), talk to almost everybody who crosses my path, but ask me to buy equipment for my dream project? Two hours of indecision. Oh yeah.
But here’s the truth: you don’t HAVE to do anything.
I wanted to have a podcast, but my fear and inner shame were louder than my dream. Basically, I was scared. What if it didn’t work? What if people laughed at my accent? What if nobody listened?
I put the possible opinions of others — and my own monkey mind/inner critic, determined to prove it wasn’t a good idea — up on a pedestal. I didn’t have the courage to follow my dream.
Until I did.
On July 22, 2025, I released my very first (super short) episode of the Agility on the Road Podcast. I have to acknowledge my dear friends Jessi, Sanna, and Harri, who helped me take that last step — or better said, the first and most important one.
So, my dears… what is your dream? What’s stopping you from following it? Is it a real obstacle, or just an imaginary one living in your head?
If my small personal accomplishment inspires even one of you to take a step toward your dream, I’ll feel incredibly honored. And if it does, please let me know in comments or at agilityontheroad@gmail.com.
Now, my next challenge is consistency — releasing new episodes weekly. But that’s another story.
Have a wonderful week — and follow your dreams.
With love,
Vendula
P.S. You can find my podcast [HERE]. It’s not perfect, but it’s real and it’s finally happening.
P.P.S. The picture is from Melbourne, from that week I bought the mics. Good memories, even with all my overthinking!
P.P.P.S. Listen, follow, and share — every single one helps me bring these stories to more people. Thank you for helping me spread the word.
